Growing penetration of invertor-based resources (IBR), e.g. distributed energy resources, renewable generation, energy storage, and electronically connected loads resulted in new challenges for the reliable electrical grid operation, analysis and control. Based on the investigation of the recent IBR-involved disturbance events it was identified that lack of available high-resolution measurements at multiple inverter-based resources has prevented in-depth event analysis. During the workshop the industry leading experts from several energy companies will present their experience and lessons learned from the recent IBR events, discuss evolving interconnection requirements for IBR monitoring, and new NERC PRC-002-4 and IEEE P2800 interconnection standard for large scale IBRs.
