Advance the industry adoption of high-resolution synchro-waveform measurements to enhance grid reliability, resilience, and situational awareness across North America.

Mission

Document the current state-of-practice and emerging interest in deployment of the synchro-waveform measurement technologies in North America and assess utilities’ readiness to integrate these measurements into operational practices.

Scope of Work

The task force will design and conduct an industry survey of utilities and vendors across North America. From utilities, the survey will gather information on the extent of current state of deployment and use of synchro-waveform technologies, as well as their technical and organizational readiness to integrate these measurements and the barriers to adoption. From vendors, the survey will capture details on available commercial technologies and their capabilities, and ongoing partnerships with utilities. The collected responses will be analyzed and synthesized into a comprehensive summary report.
