Description

As inverter-based resources (IBRs) become more prevalent, effective performance monitoring is essential to maintaining grid reliability. This talk will present key findings from the EATT Task Force on Inverter Based Resource Performance Response and Analytics Monitoring (IPRAM) report, including data and measurement requirements, case studies of observed IBR behavior, and analytics for identifying and quantifying IBR performance. The discussion will highlight current monitoring challenges and opportunities, and advanced analytics to improve understanding of IBR behavior and support more reliable grid operations.

Priya Mana is a Power Systems Research Engineer at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). Her research focuses on integrating power-electronics-based devices and emerging technologies into the electric grid. She also leads PNNL’s Grid Operations, Testing, and Validation team, which conducts simulation and testbed research to support a reliable and resilient grid. Priya holds a master’s degree from Washington State University and is a Ph.D. candidate at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She previously served as lead of the EATT Task Force on Inverter-Based Resource Performance Response and Analytics Monitoring (IPRAM).
