Contacts
NASPI invites you to choose the communication method(s) that best fit your style. We offer a List Serv mailing list for communicating between task teams and work group memebers, RSS feed, and contact information for the project managers, team leads, and laboratory staff.
List Serv Back to top
One communication method used by the NASPI Task Team Members is Lyris ListManager. ListManager allows members to use one email address to reach multiple members of that particular group or task team. For example, the email address for the Performance & Standards Task Team is naspi-taskteam-performance@lyris.pnl.gov. Emails addressed to the Performance & Standards Task Team will be sent to all the members. Each NASPI task team has its own email address for communicating with those members.
To communicate with a NASPI task team you must first be a subscriber of that task team (see list below). The following instructions will guide you through the subscription, emailing, and unsubscribe processes. If you encounter technical problems contact Teresa Carlon.
NOTE: If your email is configured for automatic attachments such as a signature to outgoing messages, the following procedure may not work. Either temporarily disable this feature or contact Teresa Carlon for assistance with the subscription process.
Subscribing to a list
- Pick a task team to join (see below).
- Click on the word "subscribe" for that task team - this should open a blank email message, prepopulating the "to" field.
- Leave the subject line and the body of the message completely blank (e.g. no company disclaimers or auto signatures).
- Click "send."
A successful subscription should generate a confirmation notice. Repeat Steps 1-4 for joining other task teams.

What is RSS? Back to top
RSS, Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary, is an easy way for Web Site owners to post news related items to their site, using such scripting languages as JavaScript, Perl, and PHP. Newshounds can also use an RSS reader to track news automatically.
How do I use RSS?
First, you need a feed aggregator also known as a "RSS reader." This displays RSS feeds from your chosen Web sites on your computer. RSS aggregators automatically check RSS feeds that you have subscribed to for new items. Once found, they present them all together for you in an easy to use format. If the title and description of an item are of interest, you can click on the link for a related page on the site. Learn more about free and commercial aggregators.
How do I subscribe to the NASPI RSS feed?
Once you have an aggregator, click on the orange XML or blue RSS button below to open up the feed. If your news reader is configured to open feeds automatically, the news should pop up in the reader. If all you see is a bunch of code in your browser, you may need to add the feed manually by copying the following URL into the reader's subscription area:
